To make the soles of shoes or boots without spending last long enough, you can protect in two ways:
a) Applying a good glue (the one used by shoemakers will do) to the soles of boots and covering with a layer of sawdust (which you can give away at any wood shop). The more fine sawdust will be more compact when dry. Let dry for a day.
b) To protect impermiabilizar and wear leather soles, you must do the following: Wear boots for one to two weeks to make the leather soles lose the protective coating and can absorb our formula. After this, the soles are cleaned well (which should be well dried) with a brush or a dry brush. Then put into a tin can to melt four ounces of tallow pitch with two ounces of turpentine or until dissolved and form a smooth liquid. (Watch out for burning). Done, it will apply several coats of this liquid to the soles clean and dry until they are no longer absorvan embedded and again allowed to dry and is applied a final layer, especially in places where the liquid is dried more easily.
