One of the specialties most common and important in the Pathfinder Club is the tree, because much of the time spent in contact with nature created by God.

These living beings are arguably inherent in our existence, that is why today we bring you some of the functions described.

Environmental

Water regulation

The tree absorbs rain

The top of a tree is flexible and designed to catch the rain, causing it to slip through the leaves, branches and trunk to the ground. By cushioning the impact of rain on the tree descends erosion, protects the soil surface.

Regulatory Términca

The tree provides shade

The top of a tree is designed to capture sunlight and shade the floor spread, causing well-being on a sunny day and protecting wildlife, plants and humans and lower their property, the harmful effect of the direct impact of the sun .

Forests regulate the climate

Globally forests are warming the atmosphere and regulate the climate of the earth. In cities, the loss of trees rises in temperature and soil evaporation. The lack of sufficient trees in several paintings of the city allows heat islands are more severe. Temperatures in the streets of downtown in the spring and summer can be up to 3 º C higher on average than in the parks and avenues of the city, the equivalent of 200 m in elevation for every degree centigrade.

Trees reduce wind speed

Certainly not stop a hurricane, but its presence remains speeds of storms, dissipating its strength and improving the environment.

Reduce air pollution

The tree filtered winds

Its crown is designed to allow air to pass through the leaves, filtering dust, ash, smoke, spores, pollen and other impurities that blow by. Pubescent leaves and rough bark on the stem traps such impurities

The tree sequestration of carbon dioxide that pollutes the atmosphere

Through photosynthesis by the leaves, the tree catches the CO2 from the atmosphere and converts it into pure oxygen, enriching and cleaning the air we breathe. It is estimated that one hectare with healthy, vigorous trees produce enough oxygen for 40 people in the city. A one hectare forest consumes in a year all the CO2 generated by carburization of a car in the same period. In this process, leaves also absorb other air pollutants such as ozone, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide and releasing oxygen.

Reduce noise pollution

Trees bring down the noise

The plant tissue cushioning the impact of sound waves, reducing noise levels in streets, parks and industrial zones. Planted in special arrangements aligned or groups of trees shades depress the noise from 6 to 10 decibels.

The tree generates biodeversidad

The forests are the most diverse communities on earth, because they thrive under their protection. Many tree species have co-evolved with pollinating insects and birds, fruit and seed dispersers and other soil microorganisms such as mycorrhiza, who lives in symbiosis with learning. Forests provide various niches for wildlife large and small, which favors the creation of new plant and animal species, increasing the biodiversity of the planet. Also the trees in cities must be indigenous or native to generate the greatest biodiversity.

Social

Improve Quality of Life

We have trees around us because they make life more enjoyable. Most of us respond to the presence of trees not only her beauty. In a wooded feel serene, peaceful, restful and quiet, we feel like home. Patients in hospitals have shown to recover faster from surgery when their rooms are trees. The strong relationship between people and trees are most evident in the resistance of a community of neighbors to cut down trees to mark the widening of the streets. Or when we see the heroic efforts of individuals and organizations to save singularly large or historic trees in a community.

Trees revalue the residential property

Whenever a house and garden will have more value than without it and trees and shrubs are the main component of the garden. The well-placed trees and shrubs around the house and managing them properly, raise property values. The trees are planted in rows privacy, bring down external noise from the roadways and provide security to the property to serve as a barrier.

The urban tree saves power

The well-placed trees around the house warm air filter and cooling across the glass, shaded walls, patios, roofs and windows, lowering air conditioning costs.

The urban and community tree

The indirect economic benefits of trees are even greater. These are available for communities or regions. Customers buy cheaper electricity bills when service companies build fewer facilities to supply the peak power, use less amount of fossil fuels in their kilns and need fewer measures to control air pollution. Communities can also save if needed in the region to build fewer facilities to control storm runoff. For an individual these savings are small, but for the community to reduce these costs is a lot of money. The trees provide a sense of comfort, beautify the urban landscape and constitute a heritage value to the municipality.
